A50 Gen3 owner here. If you're using the processing in the Astros, leave Headset audio on the console set to stereo, the optical out is set to bitstream and Dolby Digital, and make sure the Dolby symbol is lit up on the base station. To test for Dolby Digital 5.1 passthrough via digital optical, we connect a Blu-ray player to our TV via HDMI and play the 5.1 audio test found on the Spears & Munsil Calibration Disc, outputted via Dolby Digital 5.1. More importantly, AAC lacked profiles requiring 7.1 support, with a level 4 or level 5 decoder only required to support 5.1 decoding. The amendment includes level 6 to require 7.1 decoding. Also, the amendment specifies a method for controlling the downmixing of 7.1 channels to 5.1 channels with controlled gains, much as the existing standard. Dolby Digital Plus is an audio technology based on Dolby Digital 5.1, the established standard for cinema, broadcast, and home theater surround sound. It's part of a complete ecosystem that includes content creation, program distribution, device manufacture, and customer experience. You'll be limited to 5.1 Dolby Digital Plus surround sound. Playing any Dolby Atmos-encoded content on a Roku Streaming Stick+ that's attached to a Dolby Atmos capable TV, with an Atmos.
This directory contains two sets of MPEG-2 TS files: one is provided as the input files for the verification procedure; the other is for your reference only when testing a playback product.
